Every piece bearing the Azza Fahmy name is meticulously handcrafted by local craftsmen at our workshop in Cairo, Egypt, ensuring an authentic touch that transcends generations.
Filigree
At Azza Fahmy, we continue to treasure the Filigree technique, even as machine-made methods gain favor over this intricate art. We believe in its importance in jewelry-making, as it adds a special and distinctive touch to our designs, making each piece a masterpiece of craftsmanship.
Filigree work demands the skilled manipulation of two metal wires, carefully twisted, flattened, and meticulously shaped by hand into delicate circles. Our artisans, known as "Shafatisha" or filigree experts, are dedicated masters of this timeless craft. They specialize exclusively in this intricate technique, ensuring that our jewellery pieces showcase unparalleled craftsmanship.
Hand-piercing
The transformation of intricate motifs into wearable art requires the application of a traditional jewelry technique known as hand-piercing. This age-old technique involves delicately sawing every intricate sketch within a piece, a detailed process that demands the expertise of exceptionally skilled craftsmen. A manifestation of artistry and precision, this technique bridges thet gap between past and present, ensuring this craftsmanship legacy is passed down.
STONE SETTING
Head Designer Amina Ghali is very passionate about sourcing unique stone. Her commitment to craftsmanship is evident through the preservation of ancient stone-setting techniques, skillfully tailored to complement each gem's unique shape and form. Merging the essence of both ancient and modern practices, Azza Fahmy Jewellery breathes new life into age-old Ottoman, English, and other stone-setting traditions, resulting in creations that stand the test of time.
CHAIN-MAKING
Our meticulous approach extends to the selection of chains for our pieces, where each chain is hand-woven into a striking mix of metals, creating a melody of luminous tones. We have mastered a number of signature chains that are renowned around the world, and give special attention to chain combinations and clasps that complement the richness of our pieces.
